How strong is the Fusion Plate? Will it hold my camera lens combination?

Safety was one of our key concerns in designing the Fusion Plate, The plate is machined from solid aluminum, the attachment loop and screw are machined from stainless steel. The loop is attached to the plate by pin with a sheer force of 1100 lbs (499 kg).

A lot of testing has gone into the Fusion Plate. We field tested prototypes for over a year before beginning production and we have conducted stress tests on the Fusion Plate. The stress tests have included picking and dropping weights that would exceed real world use of the plate.

We are very confident in the Fusion Plate, its materials and its design. We have consulted with professional engineers on the design of components that go into the Fusion Plate.

We are photographers as well and have expensive gear that we do not want to see damaged.

We believe in this product, and stand behind it, if we didn’t we would not be putting it out there.

Will the pin fall out of the Fusion Plate?

No, the pin is mechanically retained in the plate and will not fall out on its own.

Will the Fusion Plate work with my Manfrotto/Bogen Tripod?

Yes it will! In March of 2015 launched our Manfrotto 200pl / RC2 compatible version of the Fusion Plate.

How do I install the Fusion Plate?

Looking at the back of the camera, attach the Fusion Plate to the camera with the printed side of the Fusion Plate facing you. Firmly tighten the attachment screw using the included hex key wrench.Black Fusion Plate on a Canon 7D
